(Daniel) I got up at 7 this morning, and walked around the village, an old man, who it turned out was the father of the villager who helped us with the room, was able to give me a used trailer plug, so I set to work rewiring that, and then drilled and riveted the lights back into the trailer. I also fixed the gas bottle, and the other minor repairs. Rowan and Gabby got up then, and come out and cleaned and repacked the trailer. After that we sat down outside at the families table and were treated to a Romanian breakfast, warm milk from the cow that morning, cured sausage, pork fat and sheep cheese, it was tough food, but it went down well! We said our thankyous, and I left some spare parts that I won’t need for the old man to find. Then we got into the Wolf, and drove down to the local town to find a jet wash. They charged us a little too much, but I put the jet wash to good use, cleaning off all the mud and crud from the day before.
After this we drove to Puerta de Arges, a small town close to where the original Dracula’s castle is located. We arrived after dark, and could not find a place to camp, so seeing some local police men, we asked for a camping. They had trouble explaining, and so they escorted us to a hotel close to there. We didn’t want to stay in a hotel, and so thanked them, and waited for them to drive off before heading further along the road to find a suitable bush camp.
After a few minutes I spotted a track, but when we drove in realised that it was too muddy for comfort, as I tried to reverse back out the, truck slipped a little and the trailer moved over to a tricky angle. After trying to pull back up the muddy hill we eventually had to winch back up to straighten it out. All of us were getting a little tired, so we headed back to the hotel, and checked in for the night!
